St. Thomas: Island Views and Harbor Blues

There’s something unforgettable about sailing into St. Thomas — the harbor is dotted with sailboats, the hillsides rise up in shades of green, and the water looks like every shade of blue you can imagine.

Instead of booking an excursion, we rented a Jeep and did a self-tour. It was surprisingly easy to navigate, and it gave us the freedom to see the island at our own pace. In one day, we drove the winding roads to overlook Charlotte Amalie, stopped at hidden coves, and of course spent time at Magens Bay — famous for being one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

What I loved most was how much of the island we actually got to experience. From mountaintop views to quiet beaches, we saw sides of St. Thomas that you’d miss if you only stayed downtown.

Would I go back? Absolutely. St. Thomas is the kind of island where every turn in the road gives you another reason to fall in love with the Caribbean.
