Short answer. Sometimes yes. Sometimes no.
It depends on how you like to travel and how much time you want to spend planning.
I get asked this more than anything.
Most people start the same way.
Multiple tabs open.
Flights, hotels, reviews, videos.
Prices change while you’re looking. Details get confusing.
It works. It just takes time.
It’s more than just booking a trip.
It’s:
Delays happen. Plans shift. Things get canceled.
That’s when having someone matters.
This comes up every time.
In most cases, you’re paying the same price whether you book yourself or use an advisor.
Cruises. All-inclusives. Many vacation packages.
The difference is what comes with it.
You’ll see the most value when things are more complex.
More moving parts means more chances for issues. That’s where support matters.
Simple trip.
One flight. One hotel.
You enjoy planning and don’t mind handling changes on your own.
In that case, booking it yourself can make sense.
Reaching out to an advisor, getting all the details, then booking it yourself might seem harmless. It isn’t.
This is a business.
Time goes into:
That time has value.
When that work gets used without booking, it takes time away from clients who are ready to move forward.
Most advisors are happy to answer questions.
There’s a difference between asking a few questions and having someone build out a full plan.
If you’re gathering general information, say that upfront.
If you want someone to help plan your trip, be ready to work with them.
That keeps things fair on both sides.
Travel should be the easy part.
Planning it doesn’t always feel that way.
That’s where a good advisor makes the difference.
